What careers are there in the Entertainment Industry/ Fashion Industry?

Im going to college in NYC , I have great intrest in the entertainment and fashion industries im an A student and my parents dont think there are enough jobs in those inustries as they say but hower it is my intrest and my decison I am very creative and have a great deal of personality ,, I love to act and am currently attending classes to improve, But I want to have a back up just incase te acting doesnt work out
