Why does my friend only call for this?

I have a friend who's a really nice person and we used to talk more often but I guess work/family obligations came first and we rarely spoke. She won't call me at all or even return the messages I leave for her. Thing is, as soon as she has a few days off or there's a long weekend, tada! She emerges and says "so what do you have planned for us to do"? While she may enjoy my entertainment efforts, I do think it's rude of her to think she can just appear when she's looking for something to do with her fam and mine.
